Last Wednesday, October 25th, the Cougar Chronicle reported on the unapproved dissemination of LGBTQ “Activism and Resource Guides” from the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) Office. The Cougar Chronicle contacted the University Communications office for comment but is still awaiting a response or statement addressing the violation of policy.

Nevertheless, according to multiple student reports, the CAPS office has ceased distributing the unapproved pamphlets. We presume administrative action took place to ensure this does not happen again in the future.

We are thankful that Brigham Young University took quick action to restore a spiritually healthy environment for all of its students, and we call on the CAPS office to abide by University policies in the future.
