In the midst of Holy Week, Easter celebrations and reverence are infusing BYU campus. Here are some of our favorite acts of Easter Worship from faculty and students:
1: The Tuesday Devotional
Tuesday’s devotional was centered around the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Speakers encouraged students to look for the miracles and the signs of the Savior’s Atonement in their own lives. They also highlighted some of the ways that students have found Jesus Christ in their BYU education and featured a musical number by the BYU Women’s Chorus and a dance performance from two students.
2: Interactive Remembrance in the Kimball Tower
In the Kimball Tower Lobby, the lights are dimmed and calm music plays in the background. Throughout the lobby there are various displays that demonstrate and explain the events of each day of Holy Week with interactive activities that give the students time to reflect on the role that the Resurrection has in their own lives.
3: The HBLL and JFSB Embrace “Greater Love”
The library window art has been changed to say “Greater Love” in reference to the Church’s Greater Love Easter initiative. A color by number picture of Jesus, also with the words “Greater Love” can be found in the JFSB hallway
4: Business School Display and Emails
The Marriott School of Business sent an Easter-focused message on forgiveness to students, and they have a display on the 5th floor of the atrium reminding students of Holy Week. Students can also choose to take a card with a quote about the Savior and prompts to help them ponder the Savior during this Holy Week.
While the Church is inviting members to remember the Savior and act with “Greater Love” this Easter season and in preparation for General Conference, BYU and organizations across campus are doing their part to get students and faculty into the Easter spirit.
